City of Dallas stars in Reese Witherspoon-produced TV pilot for ABC
Gird yourself for a new round of celebrity sightings, as ABC Studios has selected Dallas as the location for a new television pilot featuring the writing and production talents of Reese Witherspoon and actress-writer Meaghan Oppenheimer.
"The new show is expected to show off the vibrant, urban city that Dallas is," reads a release from the City of Dallas Office of Economic Development, of which the Dallas Film Commission is a division.
The show's story line follows the personal and professional life of a "ruthless" Dallas divorce attorney, which begins to unravel when her "emotionally damaged, love-addicted" sister resurfaces, triggering "self-destructive tendencies and exposing long-hidden family secrets." Sounds exciting.
Witherspoon executive produces, with her producing partner at Pacific Standard, Bruna Papandrea (Gone Girl, Warm Bodies). Oppenheimer (We Are Your Friends) wrote the pilot and will co-executive produce. ABC Studios is the studio; the cast has not been announced.
Texas Film Commission director Heather Page says that the commission is thrilled ABC has chosen the Dallas region for such a prestigious pilot.
