Dallas' Urban Cowgirl Chef gets another shot at Food Network stardom
A new season of Food Network Star returns, and a Dallas chef gets another shot at stardom.
Sarah Penrod, aka the Urban Cowgirl Chef, is an alumni of Comeback Kitchen who competed on season 10 in 2014. Now she'll duke it out with other former contestants to earn a spot on the new season of Food Network Star.
A Texas native, Penrod comes from a family of entertainers, and has been performing her whole life, from musical theater to beauty pageants to country singing.
She studied at Le Cordon Bleu and has a decade of experience as a professional private chef.for celebs such as Spurs' point guard Tony Parker and former wife Eva Longoria, Vicki Carr, Lyle Lovett, Tyler Seguin, and Andy Dalton.
The new season of Next Food Network Star premieres June 10 and will run nine episodes. Leading up to that is Food Network Star: Comeback Kitchen, premiering on May 27 at 8 pm, with eight former finalists — including our gal Sarah — battling it out to earn a spot on the new season.
Cohosts Valerie Bertinelli and Tyler Florence will challenge the competitors to reinvent a TV dinner; and then show off their creations in a one-minute demo.
