1. Texas Rangers fan demolishes giant burger on camera. Announcers for the Boston Red Sox went to town on May 3, giving bite-by-bite coverage of the Beltre Buster's demise. Note to all the would-be giant-burger consumers out there: If you purchase this $26 beef concoction, you too could have your mid-game meal documented for all the world to see.
2. Why do NPR reporters have such great names? Don't you just love when someone writes a story to answer a question that's been nagging you for years? The Atlantic delves into the seedy underbelly of National Public Radio nomenclature to bring you this kernel of truth. Some names are just cooler than others, but don't fret. You can always make one up using a handy dandy formula. Just call me Sinclair Melo St. Amant.
3. This ad has a secret abuse message that only children can see. Gizmodo has the scoop on a Spanish language advertisement with a height-sensitive message. Nice to see technology being used for good instead of evil.
4. Ten beautiful words about love that don't exist in the English language. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, there are about 250,000 distinct English words. But we still don't have one that exclusively defines "the act of tenderly running your fingers through someone’s hair." Point: Portuguese.
5. Brittney Griner shares her struggles of growing up gay. In light of NBA player Jason Collins' announcement about his sexuality, Baylor University standout (and once-rumored NBA prospect) Brittney Griner weighed in on the issue. The candid New York Times op-ed shares the athlete's childhood pain and adult acceptance. You go, girl.
