Star-Filled Mega Conference
Oprah leads celebrities flocking to Dallas for T.D. Jakes' MegaFest
We know that big things happen in Dallas, but what about mega things? For the first time, T.D. Jakes Ministries is hosting its signature conference series, MegaFest, in Dallas. With 100,000 attendees, the three-day event is expected to bring in $41 million to the city.
Oprah Winfrey kicks off the conference 9 am Thursday, August 29, with a Life Class at American Airlines Center. Tickets for Oprah's event are still available and cost between $72 and $113.
The comprehensive family and faith conference boasts special events for women, men, youth and children, as well as sessions on personal finance, college applications and a film festival. Other special guests include Joel and Victoria Osteen, pastors of Lakewood Church in Houston; Cedric the Entertainer; Natalie Grant; Steve Harvey; Jennifer Hudson; and Soledad O'Brien.
When he's not hosting international conferences, Jakes is the senior pastor at Potter's House, a 30,000-member strong congregation in Dallas. He's also written several books and runs 50 outreach ministries alongside his wife, Serita.
Online registration for the conference as a whole has closed, but those wishing to attend can still snag a space in person at the Dallas Convention Center and American Airlines Center. Tickets to the conference cost $75 and do not include special events, including Oprah's Life Class and Cedric the Entertainer's comedy show.
