Hurricane Harvey forces cancellation of show at Irving Music Factory
Jeff & Larry's Backyard BBQ, which was to have been one of the opening-weekend events at the new Pavilion at the Irving Music Factory, has been canceled in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
The September 3 cancellation had nothing to do with local weather. It was done out of respect for the ongoing devastation in Houston, where the event was to have also taken place on September 2 at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. That venue has suffered no physical damage, but officials decided to cancel the event to keep the focus on the people of the region.
The event, which will proceed with plans for two shows in North Carolina, would have featured performances by Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, Eddie Money, and The Marshall Tucker Band.
The cancellation takes a little wind out of the sails for the Pavilion at the Irving Music Factory, which is celebrating its grand opening this weekend. Still, there will be plenty to enjoy at the venue starting August 31, when comedian Dave Chappelle takes the stage for the first of two nights.
Chappelle will be followed by a concert by Brad Paisley, Dustin Lynch, Chase Bryant, and Lindsay Ell on September 2, and a concert by Lifehouse and Switchfoot on September 4.
