Frisco mom's twerking tirade against Miley Cyrus goes viral
Kim Keller is on a mission. The Frisco mom wants to make sure her daughter never turns into Miley Cyrus. To that end, Keller wrote a strongly worded letter on her blog, Roadkill Goldfish.
The post, "Dear daughter, let Miley Cyrus be a lesson to you," has garnered more than 3 million page views since August 26 — the day after Cyrus' infamous performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. It has spawned thousands of comments and put Keller on the talk show circuit.
Keller told Good Morning America that she was appalled at Cyrus' behavior on stage and felt extremely uncomfortable watching the performance with her 13-year-old daughter.
The Kellers were big fans of Cyrus when she was a Disney television star on the show Hannah Montana. Cyrus' wholesome image has since taken a different turn. Keller wants to make sure her own daughter won't make the same changes as she gets older. The letter reads in part:
If you ever even consider doing something like that, I promise you that I will run up and twerk so you will see how ridiculous twerking looks. I will duct tape your mouth shut so your tongue doesn’t hang out like an overheated hound dog. I will smack any male whom you decide to smash against his pelvis — after I first knock you on your butt for forgetting how a lady acts in public.
Keller goes on to say that "Miley Cyrus is not edgy or cool or sexy. She's a desperate girl screaming for attention." Keller's defending her post, saying she's not attacking Cyrus but using her as an example of how not to behave.
Considering teenagers love to do things that push their parents' buttons, it's a bold move to give your adolescent daughter a blueprint of how to most annoy you. Time will tell if Keller's daughter makes mom proud or calls her bluff.
