New app tests your knowledge on all things Texas

If you're headed out of town for the holiday weekend, chances are you will find yourself with some time to kill. And the good folks at the U.S. Census Bureau have put all of their data mining to use for your entertainment in a new app called Census Pop Quiz (free for iPhone and Android).
Test your knowledge on all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, with a five-part quiz. The Texas version boasts questions about the number of households where Spanish is spoken and the percentage of people who don't have access to a vehicle.
If that sounds a bit too educational for you, there's also a timed section where you just pop bubbles with your finger to reveal a fun fact.
The questions themselves provide interesting insight into the characteristics of each state — and, who knows, you might even learn something. Once you complete all 51 sections, you'll unlock the U.S. Challenge section, which has to be pretty cool considering the amount of work required to reveal it.
You can show off your skills on social media by posting your scores online. If you're smart enough to get an expert-level ranking, you'll be rewarded with a state-themed piece of praise, such as "You're hotter than Texas in July."
