James Franco's roast highlights, Johnny Manziel's Tumblr project and more links we love
Editor's note:There's so much that's beautiful, funny, smart and informative on the Internet. Problem is, there's also a bunch of garbage. Here's the best of the web right now.
1. James Franco gets properly roasted by Aziz Ansari, Andy Sandberg and Jonah Hill. Comedy Central hosted a rollicking roast of actor James Franco during the Labor Day holiday weekend. Highlights include Andy Sandberg's dark soliloquy and Seth Rogen's giggle.
2. "Johnny We Know" project hits Tumblr with a fury. I don't know if you've heard, but there's this pretty polarizing quarterback at Texas A&M right now. Instead of quieting the critics on opening weekend, Johnny Manziel managed to fan the flames by drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the Aggies' rout of Rice University. Manziel defenders have created a new Tumblr account to showcase what they say is "the real Jonathan Manziel."
3. Russian wedding dance-off generates intense competition. Group wedding dances in the U.S. are generally limited to "YMCA" and the chicken dance, but this Russian wedding party took the ritual to a whole other level with a fierce dance-off reportedly inspired by someone stealing the bride's shoe. We're guessing there's a bit lost in translation, but that doesn't make the video "Russian Man Dance Fantastic" any less entertaining.
4. London women beat up man trying to rob them at ATM. Two women were trying to get cash from an ATM in London when a man on a bike accosted them. The would-be-robber got more than he bargained for, as the ladies laid into him and he ran off empty-handed.
5. Calvin & Hobbes creator gives college grads advice via comic strip. Young adulthood is an interesting time. You're caught between the world of classes, midday naps and Frisbee-based competition and well, the real world, which has far fewer space allotted for naps and discs than you might have hoped. But as Bill Watterson explained in a 1995 commencement speech at Kenyon College, life is what you make of it. His words have gone viral thanks to the work of fellow cartoonist Gavin Aung Than.
