Exciting details emerge about Irving Music Factory's concert venue
We already knew the forthcoming Music Factory complex in Irving was going to feature an 8,000-seat concert venue, but a few more details about it have finally been released, including the fact that Live Nation Entertainment will run the facility and book shows for it.
To be called the Pavilion at the Music Factory, it will combine attributes of other concert venues in the area. For smaller or cold-weather events, it will have a 4,000-seat indoor theater. But when the weather or event calls for it, the back wall will slide open, allowing for an additional 4,000 people to watch from a 65,000-square-foot lawn.
For comparison's sake, Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie has a seating capacity of 6,350; Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas can fit around 20,000 people.
The Pavilion at the Music Factory will join the previously announced Alamo Drafthouse location, along with multiple restaurants, retail shops and a bowling alley. In all, the Music Factory, which is adjacent to the Irving Convention Center, will feature 210,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space that can be accessed by the DART Orange Line.
The Music Factory complex broke ground earlier in 2014, and the Pavilion is expected to host its first concert in spring 2016.
