Two Music Legends
Lionel Richie and Mariah Carey team up for concert tour heading to Dallas
Legendary R&B/soul singer Lionel Richie is set to return to Dallas for the first time in three years, and this time he's bringing along modern-day legend Mariah Carey as a special guest. The two will play together at American Airlines Center on May 15, 2017.
The All the Hits Tour, a reprise of Richie's 2013-2014 tour, starts on Wednesday, March 15, in Baltimore. It will visit 34 cities across North America, including another Texas stop in Houston on May 13.
Details are scarce on how big of a role Carey will have on the tour. She's specifically labeled as a "special guest," so she likely won't be a co-headliner alongside Richie. But such a big-name performer, who released her most recent album in 2014, is also not likely to be reduced to an opening act, either.
Just as with his 2014 Dallas appearance, Richie will sing songs from throughout his long career as a solo artist and his time with The Commodores — thus, All the Hits. Expect to hear classics like "All Night Long," "Hello," "Dancing on the Ceiling," "Say You, Say Me," and many more.
Eligible subscribers through AT&T Wireless can buy tickets starting on Tuesday, December 13, while a presale for Citi cardmembers starts on Thursday, December 15. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday, December 17, through Ticketmaster.com.
