It's been a crazy week for concert announcements around Dallas-Fort Worth.

Music acts are getting their 2024 plans into gear, and a slew have revealed new tours coming to various venues in the Dallas area later this year - so many that it calls for a list. The genres range from rock to rap to pop, and the venues range from rock clubs to outdoor sheds.

Here's a list of newly announced tours coming to Dallas in spring and summer '24, listed chronologically:

    The Last Dinner Party
The all-female British rock band The Last Dinner Party will play at The Studio at The Factory in Deep Ellum on March 22 in support of their debut album, Prelude to Ecstasy.

    Offset
One-third of the rap group Migos, Offset will perform at South Side Ballroom on April 5 as part of his first-ever solo tour in support of his second solo album, Set It Off.

    The Black Crowes
Rock band The Black Crowes are making a comeback, playing at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving on April 6 in support of their first new album in 14 years, Happiness Bastards.

    Dave Matthews Band
The annual visit from Dave Matthew Band, which typically comes in May, will now be on June 1 at their usual venue of Dos Equis Pavilion. They are touring in support of their new album, Walk Around the Moon.

    X Ambassadors
Pop rock band X Ambassadors will play at Granada Theater on June 11 in support of their new album, Townies.

    The Doobie Brothers
Classic yacht rock band The Doobie Brothers will play at Dos Equis Pavilion on June 29, playing their collection of hits from the last 50+ years.

    Pixies and Modest Mouse
Indie rock mainstays Pixies and Modest Mouse will co-headline a concert at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving on June 27.

    Sunny Day Real Estate
The self-proclaimed "Godfathers of Emo," Sunny Day Real Estate will play at The Echo Lounge & Music Hall on August 14 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1994 debut album, Diary.

    Lawrence
Pop soul group Lawrence will play at House of Blues Dallas on October 5 in support of their fourth album, Family Business.

Dallas Mavericks fire GM Nico Harrison 9 months after Luka Doncic trade

The Dallas Mavericks fired general manager Nico Harrison on Tuesday, November 11, an admission nine months later that the widely criticized trade of Luka Doncic backfired on the franchise.

The move came a day after Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont attended a 116-114 loss to Milwaukee in which fans again chanted “fire Nico,” a familiar refrain since the blockbuster deal that brought Anthony Davis from the Los Angeles Lakers and angered the Dallas fan base.

The Mavericks appointed Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi as co-interim general managers to oversee basketball operations.

Dumont’s hope for goodwill with the fans never came after Dallas landed No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg with just a 1.8% chance to win the draft lottery.

There have been plenty of empty seats in the upper deck of American Airlines Center this season, something not seen consistently since 2018, when the Mavericks traded up to get Doncic with the third overall pick.

Doncic was a 25-year-old generational point guard in his prime when Harrison unloaded him for the oft-injured Davis, who has missed 30 of 44 regular-season games since his arrival in February.

Harrison was in his fourth season and had engineered three trades that helped the Mavs on a run to the Western Conference finals in 2022 and the NBA Finals two years later.

The Doncic trade and a slow start to the first full season without the young superstar led to a stunning downfall. Dallas is 3-8, and Davis has missed six of the 11 games with a calf injury.
