Dallas fun team opens new retro arcade and game bar in Oak Cliff
A new entertainment destination is coming to North Oak Cliff with games and food: Called Round Two, it'll open at 821 W. Davis St., in the former Flashback Retropub space, and according to a release, it'll open on July 19.
Round Two is from Alicia and Kendall Spence, who are already big players in the Oak Cliff fun business with Another Round, their mini-golf concept they opened in a former AC warehouse near Sylvan Thirty at 660 Fort Worth Ave. in 2020.
The new venue will be a retro arcade and gaming venue with a full-service cocktail bar, plus snack bar with food from Edylicious, a locally owned tea room that does catering with sandwiches and salads. Customers can order a build-your-own brown bag lunch with sandwiches plus gaming-themed snack kits.
The bar will offer cocktail shots plus cocktails such as Peach's Parasol with bourbon, apricot liqueur, and peach purée; and Hyrule Mule with Jameson orange, ginger liqueur and ginger beer.
Games
Round Two will build on the collection of arcade games and retro console games that Flashback had amassed, plus will add the following:
- two gaming bays
- virtual reality area
- food offerings
- weekly gaming tournaments.
... for a grand total of 50-plus arcade games, 20 board games, and more.
Games include arcade classics such as Pac Man, X-Men, Ninja Turtles, Frogger, NBA Jam and The Simpsons. Additionally, Round Two will be outfitted with gaming consoles including Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo64, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox.
The arcade and gaming venue will be open seven days a week and will become 21+ after 7pm nightly. They'll charge an entry fee of $5 for 21 and up, or $10 per person under 21. The gaming bays are rentable, either online or walk-in, for $15 per hour. The VR area is rentable at $10 per hour.
Round Two will also do a partnership with Another Round through a monthly membership whereby patrons can enjoy both venues for $40 per person for unlimited mini golf and arcade entry.
