TGIF Revisited
ATX Television Festival brings Boy Meets World and more '90s nostalgia in summer2013
The second annual ATX Television Festival returns in June 2013 for for another round of TV celebration, industry panels and nostalgia. Recently, the fest announced its first wave of guests, and, to the delight of '90s television fans everywhere, we will see cast reunions for Boy Meets World, Party of Fiveand My So-Called Life.
From the look of things, the festival is gearing up to surpass its solid inaugural showing, with returning guests Bill Lawrence (Cougartown), more Friday Night Lights fanfare and cast reunions for three of the biggest teen shows from the '90s.
With the Boy Meets World reunion, not only will we get a chance to hear from the cast of a pivotal show, but it’s a promising sign that the recent rumored Girl Meets World spin-off will actually happen.
From the look of things, the festival is gearing up to surpass its solid inaugural showing, with cast reunions for three of the biggest teen shows from the '90s.
Everyone attending from World will undoubtedly be pressed for info, and here’s hoping they actually reveal something of note. If they don’t, Ben Savage will still be on hand to talk about Cory Matthews, Mr. Feeny and maybe even what is was like playing Cupid on his older brother’s show.
Besides the TGIF nostalgia, look for Scott Wolf — who attended the festival last year to promote his animated series Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters — to bring together the rest of his Party of Five alumni in a reunion that will excite the '90s soapy-drama fan in all of us.
A My So-called Life reunion was also announced for the festival, rounding out a strong trifecta of teen-focused '90s primetime television for the festival’s programming
