Rock out with a jolly holiday playlist from CultureMap Dallas
It blows my mind a little bit each time I remember that the in-house band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is The Roots. Fallon is doing some great things on his show, but The Roots? That’s just a whole other level of awesome.
So leave it to Fallon and The Roots to dress up in Christmas sweaters and bring on Mariah Carey for an adorable version of “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” complete with toy instruments and a children's chorus.
I’m not ashamed to say that “All I Want” is my favorite holiday song. It’s just catchy as all hell and, for me, isn’t so saccharine that I can listen to it more than a few times without needing a shot of insulin.
Minus the grinches in our office, (like our intern Brooke Shunatona, who claims to not listen to Christmas music at all) we brainstormed a Christmas (and Chanukah) playlist that we will surely be sick of by December 19 but love right now. Fire up those headphones and enjoy using your company's bandwith to stream our staff-selected seasonal songs:
