The '90s are back!
New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men unite for boy band explosion at AAC
Even though we're in the midst of a current boy band craze thanks to groups like One Direction and The Wanted, their forebears from the '90s have never really gone away. Now three of the biggest ones — New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men — are teaming up for the aptly named The Package Tour. The boy band barrage hits Dallas June 28 at American Airlines Center.
All three bands are in the middle of a renaissance of sorts.
NKOTB teamed up with the Backstreet Boys for an album and a tour a couple of years ago, and they'll soon be putting out another album, 10, which appropriately enough is the group's 10th album. NKOTB's new single “Remix (I Like The)” will be available January 28.
98 Degrees is reuniting after a decade-long hiatus and also plans to release a new album in 2013. Meanwhile, Boyz II Men is about to become the new attraction in Las Vegas, recently signing on for an extended residency at the Mirage Hotel & Casino starting in March.
The Dallas concert is the 20th of 28 scheduled dates, so here's hoping the bands will have developed a nice rhythm to give fans a trip down memory lane and a peek at what the future holds.
