New game show twist on escape rooms to open at Grandscape in The Colony
Get out of the Escape Game while you're still alive.
A ramped-up new escape room concept is coming to Dallas-Fort Worth, or specifically to Grandscape, the entertainment destination in The Colony.
Called Great Big Game Show, it's like an escape room and a reality TV show combined into one. The concept was created in Nashville where the first location debuted at the Opry Mills Mall in July 2023. This will be the second location, and according to a release, it's slated to open in late November.
Great Big Game Show is an interactive game show with two teams who compete on a fully decked-out sound stage with lights, music, and a giant game show-style wheel. There's even a live host.
Contestants are taken through a variety of rounds, each with a different style of gameplay - from minute-to-win-it style challenges, to puzzle-solving, trivia, games of chance, and more.
The release describes it as all the thrills of a televised game show, but without the big audience, other than your family, friends, or co-workers.
The concept is from the team behind The Escape Game, who've opened 36 escape game locations across the U.S. since they were founded in Nashville in 2014.
“The Escape Game brings us so much joy because we get to witness our guests having a blast with what we've created," says The Escape Game co-founder and CMO Jonathan Murrell. "We introduced Great Big Game Show to offer more fun to more guests in a whole new and exciting way.”
