Texas star Pat Green to release rare live album recorded in Luckenbach
Live from the Center of the Known Universe: Luckenbach Texas will be released on November 13.
Country singer Pat Green has become only the second musician in history to record an album in Luckenbach Dancehall, one of Texas' most legendary venues. The finished album will hit shelves on Friday, November 13, according to a release.
Live from the Center of the Known Universe: Luckenbach Texas was recorded in the iconic Hill Country dance hall over two nights from November 7-8, 2025. This makes Green - who lives in Fort Worth - only the second artist ever permitted to do so since country and folk singer-songwriter Jerry Jeff Walker and his 1973 album Viva Terlingua!
The 14-track live album honors Walker's legacy and features performances by Green, Jerry's son Django Walker, and fellow singer-songwriters Cory Morrow and Ray Wylie Hubbard. The 14-track live album honors Walker's legacy and features performances by Green, Jerry's son Django Walker, and fellow singer-songwriters Cory Morrow and Ray Wylie Hubbard.
"Those two nights in Luckenbach were more magical than I think any of us could have imagined," Django Walker says in the release. "From the joy of the crowd to the songs and how they turned out."
The album includes live performances of Green's signature songs "Carry On," "Three Days," "Southbound 35," and "Wave on Wave," plus covers of the late Jerry Jeff Walker's "Sangria Wine" and "Mr. Bojangles," performed by his son.

"I was honored to have Pat reach out and want me to do ‘Mr. Bojangles,’ cause he knew how much that meant to my father, and I appreciate it more than he knows," Django Walker says. "I think everyone that hears it will hear the joy, love and energy that was captured that weekend."
Hubbard's presence at Luckenbach Dancehall also played a significant role in the album's creation. Jerry covered Hubbard's most popular song, "Redneck Mother," for Viva Terlingua!, and singing it alongside Green in the same venue made it a "full circle" moment, he says.
"There are some moments in time that are more special and powerful than others…. Bein’ on stage with Pat there at Luckenbach singing ‘Redneck Mother’ was one of those moments," Hubbard says.
