UTOPIA on Tour
Rapper Travis Scott to perform in Dallas for first time since Houston tragedy
Rapper Travis Scott is back on tour for the first time since 10 people were killed at a 2021 concert in Houston. Called "Travis Scott's UTOPIA - Circus Maximus Tour, " it'll have 28 dates across North America, including at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Tuesday, October 17. UPDATE (9/1/23): After selling out the first date, Scott has added a second date in Dallas on October 18. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, September 1 at 10 am at travisscott.com.
Notably, the tour lineup does not include a stop in the Houston native's hometown, although the Houston mayor's office announced in early August that Scott would be performing at Toyota Center in October. According to CBS News, the Houston Police Officers' Union strongly objected to Scott performing in Houston again.
That announcement came a day after dozens of people were injured at a Scott concert in Rome.
The tour, which is in support of his new album, UTOPIA, will kick off in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 11, and go through December 29. In addition to Dallas, Scott will perform at Moody Center in Austin on November 21.
Scott has established himself as one of the biggest rappers in the world, with each of his four albums making at least the top three on the Billboard 200 charts, including the last three at No. 1. He's collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including Beyoncé, Drake, Bad Bunny, Rosalía, and more.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Thursday, August 31 at 10 am at travisscott.com. $2 from every ticket sold will go to Cactus Jack Foundation, a 501(c)3 with a mission to uplift Houston youth through toy drives, scholarship programs to HBCU college students, and fulfilling expenses for education and creative endeavors.
