Nicole Miller Gets Chilly
Ice queen Nicole Miller takes a shine to chilly weather with frosty fall 2016 collection
If designer Nicole Miller ever gets bored with fashion design, maybe she could find work as a weather forecaster. She was "feeling a little frustrated by the lack of winter," according to the notes for her fall 2016 collection, so she took matters into her own stylish hands.
"I went full on with a Nordic theme — very icy with a spirit of coziness," she said about the line, which she unveiled at New York Fashion Week just as a bitter Arctic cold front blew in, sending everyone scurrying for warm clothes.
Although the styles Miller showed on the chill-inducing, fog-filled runway won't be in stores for several months, the audience was eagerly eyeing the wool and leather jacket with fur collar, white Mongolian vest over a glittery white beaded gown with feathers, and nifty mixed jacquard bomber jacket in a bright weave print.
For Miller fans in the warmer Texas climate, the designer features long boho dresses with colorful beading and folkloric embroidery, gowns of shiny print fabric for which the designer is known, and plenty of looks with ruffles and black lace that translate in a sexy way — no matter what the weather forecast portends.
