Partners Card's app debut spurs Dallasites to shop with a purpose
It's the event that fashionistas and foodies wait all year for: Partners Card. The fundraiser is back, gifting North Texans with 20 percent off at more than 750 restaurants and retailers from October 27 through November 5 — and for its 25th anniversary, it's going digital.
The Partners Card app allows shoppers to buy or gift the $70 card, with the entire cost of the card being donated to The Family Place, Dallas' largest family violence agency. More than $1 million was raised for the organization through Partners Card last year alone.
The free app, which is available for both iPhone and Android, offers some nifty perks. Besides being able to see and sort the participating retailers (by area or category), you can add an existing card and eliminate any risk of losing the traditional paper copy. Through geo-targeting, stores that sell the card will now receive credit. You'll also get up-to-the-minute info about upcoming Partners Card events.
It also allows shoppers to learn more about The Family Place. Since 1978, this crucial Dallas organization has provided life-saving shelter to more than 23,000 women, children, and men and has answered more than 575,000 calls for help.
"The Family Place is very excited to offer the Partners Card app," says Family Place CEO Paige Flink. "Our hope is that this digital component will make Partners Card, as well as the mission of The Family Place, more accessible to people across the Dallas Metroplex."
Take a look at which stores and eateries are participating this year here, and then make sure to get your card — hard copy or digital, it doesn't matter as long as you're shopping and saving.
