Wisteria's World
Dallas home decor store's expansion plans include move to chichi 'hood
Wisteria, the now 15-year-old home furnishings and decor brand, has a new store in the works in prime Park Cities territory: 5370 W. Lovers Ln. at Inwood Village. Expect to find Wisteria’s globally sourced furniture and accessories in a 7,000-square-foot, showroom-like setting. Opening date is October 22.
In addition to these new digs, Wisteria’s outlet is moving from its current spot near Dallas Love Field to a 15,000-square-foot space in Farmers Branch, at 13460 Midway Rd. That move is slated for mid-November.
But you know what that means? Moving sale — until its final day of operation on September 19. Hurry!
“For more than 15 years, Shannon and I have had the pleasure of helping our customers find unique looks that help their homes tell special stories through the items we’ve curated from around the globe,” said Wisteria president Andrew Newsom in a release.
“Founding Wisteria has been an adventure that we never could have dreamed of when we first got married. We couldn’t be more proud to be expanding from where we started — working from our dining room table — to our new retail location and an outlet store.”
The Newsoms founded the company in 2000, primarily as a way to pay for their travels and the treasures they acquired during them. They brought back unique items for their home and sold the surplus to friends and family and via newspaper ads until they started a catalog in 2001 and, in 2004, a website. The original store at 6500 Cedar Springs Rd. opened in 2010 and also housed the couple’s “flea market” deals in the back.
The Inwood Village store will be open Monday-Thursday, 10 am-6 pm, and Friday-Saturday, 10 am-8 pm. The outlet will be open Monday-Saturday, 10 am-6 pm.
