    Cool Coworkers

Dallas gets a new coworking space this October, and its size and perks suit the Uptown address. The super modern and highly social Spaces Dallas opens at 1919 McKinney Ave. on October 17.

Founded in Amsterdam, Spaces Dallas offers more than just a location to hold meetings or send emails. The company’s culture focuses on creating a community of movers and shakers. This is its first foray into Texas.

“Spaces Dallas will provide an inspiring and flexible environment for the region’s most innovative business leaders to work productively and connect with one another,” says Stephen Farley, Regus CEO, North America, the corporation behind the Dallas debut.

Entrepreneurs and freelancers can snag coworking spaces via memberships tailored to their needs at the new 15,000-square-foot space that also includes flexible common areas and 5,000 square feet of outdoor workspace. Over 200 private offices and three meeting rooms outfitted with the latest in communication and presentation tech mean the sky’s the limit for collaborative meetings.

And the atmosphere is pretty sweet too: hardwood floors, rustic brick walls, modern furnishings, and light-flooded work areas merge professionalism with the relaxed feel of your favorite coffee shop. But unlike coffee shops, the focus is on mingling with other Dallasites ready to share ideas and make friends.

“As the largest coworking space in the Dallas market, Spaces Dallas is redefining the way work is done, providing a contemporary, social, and inspiring environment with a real focus on community,” says Martijn Roordink, co-founder of Spaces.

Part of that community includes services like dry cleaning, floral arrangements, unlimited access to the Wi-Fi system, and an on-site coffee shop. Members can also take advantage of the 24/7 access to the building, as well as access to other Regus and Spaces locations across the globe. Memberships start at $270 per month and office rentals start at $669 per month.

More than 60 Texas-based companies appear on Forbes’ 2025 list of the world’s 2,000 biggest publicly traded companies, and nearly half come from Dallas-Fort Worth.

Among Texas companies whose stock is publicly traded, Spring-based ExxonMobil is the highest-ranked at No. 13 globally. Dallas-based AT&T comes in second in Texas (No. 35 globally). Rounding out Texas' top five are Austin-based Oracle (No. 66 globally), and Austin-based Tesla (No. 69 globally).

Ranking first in the world is New York City-based J.P. Morgan Chase.

Forbes compiled this year’s Global 2000 list using data from FactSet Research to analyze the biggest public companies based on four metrics: sales, profit, assets, and market value.

“The annual Forbes Global 2000 list features the companies shaping today’s global markets and moving them worldwide,” said Hank Tucker, a staff writer at Forbes. “This year’s list showcases how despite a complex geopolitical landscape, globalization has continued to fuel decades of economic growth, with the world’s largest companies more than tripling in size across multiple measures in the past 20 years.”

The U.S. topped the list with 612 companies, followed by China with 317 and Japan with 180.

Here are the rest of the Texas-based companies in the Forbes 2000, grouped by the location of their headquarters and followed by their global ranking.
