Welcome Westin Downtown Dallas
Downtown Dallas gets even roomier with luxurious new hotel tower
Downtown Dallas is about to get more attractive to out-of-town visitors with the announcement of the new Westin Dallas Downtown. The hotel is slated to open in December 2015.
The new Westin is going into the building known as One Main Place, located at 1201 Main St., between Field and Griffin streets. The building was acquired by the New Orleans-based KFK Group in March 2014. Construction has already started on the hotel, which will feature 323 guest rooms, including 21 suites.
The hotel, whose main entrance will actually face Elm Street, will also feature a restaurant and contemporary bar; indoor pool on the 32nd floor; more than 27,000 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom; and a glass-enclosed event space designed for weddings and other social galas.
Although the hotel will be the primary tenant of the building, it also is being renovated to offer retail and office space and underground parking.
The addition of the Westin Downtown Dallas will bring the number of hotels in downtown to 22, with multiple other hotels in the planning stages. This will be the fifth Westin hotel in Dallas-Fort Worth and the 21st from parent Starwood Hotels & Resorts — a list that includes the W Dallas-Victory, Aloft Hotels, Sheratons and Le Meridiens.
