Texas Rangers superstar slugger retires his $3.4 million Preston Hollow estate

    John Egan
    Jan 25, 2019 | 2:49 pm

Retired Texas Rangers third-base ace Adrián Beltré has put his French-inspired Dallas mansion in the real estate batter’s box for nearly $3.4 million.

The future Hall of Famer — who spent 21 seasons in the big leagues, including his final eight with the Rangers — retired from baseball in 2018 and now is retiring his Preston Hollow estate. The asking price is $3.38 million; he bought the 2008-built home for close to $3 million.

The 39-year-old Beltré, a native of the Dominican Republic, became a Rangers fan favorite over the years. He shares the stately mansion with his wife, Sandra, and their three children — Cassandra, Adrián Jr., and Camila.

The 8,204-square-foot gated estate — at 4311 Brookview Dr. — features five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms on a three-quarters-of-an-acre lot. Other amenities include:

    • Three-car garage
    • Hand-scraped hardwood floors
    • Six-burner gas stove and grill in kitchen
    • Formal study
    • Wine cellar
    • Eight-seat media room
    • Game room with kitchenette
    • Outdoor living area with grill, pool and retractable video screens

“The home is a winner — just like its famous owner,” Realtor.com says.

Lillie Young of Allie Beth Allman & Associates has the listing.

Beltré no doubt has fond memories associated with his Preston Hollow mansion, such as a 2017 bash where DJ Sebastian was spinning the tunes. But in the summer of 2015, someone burglarized the home, swiping Beltré’s 2011 American League Championship ring and four tickets to his suite at the Rangers’ home, Globe Life Park.

While Beltré is now out of the baseball spotlight, he’s hardly been out of sight.

Plano-based retailer J.C. Penney recently aired a feel-good holiday commercial in which a spokeswoman randomly interviews shoppers. Little did the spokeswoman — or J.C. Penney, for that matter — know that she was in the presence of a baseball great and his family.

The ad contains no on-air acknowledgment that the Adrián Beltré is one of the featured shoppers. And the Beltrés didn’t tip off the crew members who were shooting the spot.

The home is at 4311 Brookview Dr., in the Preston Hollow area of Dallas.

Once-in-a-century 3-acre estate for sale in Dallas' Preston Hollow

    Teresa Gubbins
    May 20, 2025 | 10:58 am

A once-in-a-generation estate has hit the market in Dallas' Preston Hollow neighborhood. Located at 9511 Inwood Rd., the home is being offered for sale for the first time in more than a century, having remained under the stewardship of the same family since at least 1940 when the current home was built.

Situated on nearly three acres on a corner lot, it's an English-style estate surrounded by century-old hardwoods and manicured landscaping, creating a private sanctuary in the middle of the city.

There's a main residence, guest quarters, and two workshops, one featuring a rail-mounted hoist and enhanced electrical systems.

Listed for $7,500,000, the home has 4,675 square feet with four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and a five-car garage.

The property is free from both floodplain and historic designation, allowing a buyer to remodel, rebuild, or (ugh) subdivide. It also has three curb cuts — two on Inwood Road and one on Park Lane — with the possibility of a posh Park Lane address.

It's also zoned for horses and other animals, and a perimeter privacy wall can be added.

According to listing agent Andrea Childress with The Agency Dallas, the property was originally known as Sunnyslope Estate, and was developed more than 100 years ago by oilman M.H. Marr, who was searching for a place to settle with his family when he discovered the tract of land on what was then the edge of Dallas and is now in the heart of Preston Hollow.

Marr's wife, Adah Yale Marr, was known for her prominent social presence, entertaining various figures and hosting business gatherings with Dallas families like the Hunts, Meadows, and DeGolyers among their guests.

Childress calls it "more than just a listing—it’s a landmark."

"Properties like this simply don’t exist anymore, especially with this kind of acreage, location, and legacy,” she says.
