New Dallas townhomes offer young professionals everything they want where they want it
A new townhome village gives young professionals a prime option just minutes from downtown Dallas and a plethora of retail and restaurant options. Villas at Garrett Avenue provide the perfect home base for the active singleton or young married couple who likes to spend their leisure time in Uptown, Lower Greenville or Knox-Henderson.
Built by Houston-based David Weekley Homes, the community comprises 22 single-family detached townhomes near the intersection of Garrett and Capitol avenues, across the street from the Strata apartment complex, just south of Henderson Avenue. It's one of several coming-soon complexes, including the Capitol Avenue Townhomes going up around the corner.
The Villas at Garrett Avenue come in three floor plans. All have three floors, three bedrooms and at least three baths. Square footage ranges from 1,901 to 2,101.
In addition to a common gathering area that anchors the community, each residence has a fenced-in yard — giving the four-legged children a space of their own. The transitional interior design makes it easy to imagine any style furnishings inside.
The layout makes sense for today's lifestyle. A first-floor bedroom and bathroom could be a guest suite or a home office. On the second floor are the main living spaces — an open-concept living, dining and kitchen area with high ceilings and lots of natural light. In the kitchen is a must-have center island and ample cabinetry. There is nothing worse than too little storage.
Also on the second floor: another full bed and bath.
The third floor is a private master retreat. The bedroom has enough space for a sitting area, and the bathroom boasts a soaker tub, stand-up shower and dual sinks. Is there a walk-in closet? You bet. So there's no need to boot your husband's things to the guest closet.
Prices start around $400,000. The first closing is slated for August, but you can check out the model unit now.
