Celina: Wide-open spaces and plenty of historic homesteads await
There are so many great places to live in North Texas that it helps to have an expert on your side. The Neighborhood Guide presented by Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty gives you insider access from the agents who live and work there, providing in-the-know info about your possible new community.

Located just north of Prosper, Celina is a booming city with a lot of new-construction homes, yet it is surrounded by farmland.
"We often joke that to find our neighborhood, you just turn left at the longhorns," says Michelle Field. "And it's true! Left or right, the neighboring farms are filled with longhorns, and they are amazing to see every day."
Though the real estate agent is an adrenaline junkie — she’s been scuba diving with great white sharks in South Africa — she moved to Celina three years ago, drawn to its small-town charm, country feel, and welcoming people.
"Celina has great restaurants and community events, and just feels like home to me," she says.
Field offered up a few of her personal favorites about life in Celina. Here's her guide to the area:
Where to eat & drink
Laissez les bons temps rouler at Bongo Beaux's Bourre Palace & Cajun Kitchen, where Field goes for her gumbo fix.
Caudalie Crest boutique winery hosts tastings every weekend, complete with grazing boards to nibble on.
Where to play
Old Celina Park hosts nearly all the city's youth and adult sports, with a special focus on baseball.
Where to live
"The area is filled with new-construction homes that contrast nicely with the historic homes, plus there are many farms and homes on acreage," Field says. "It's just a beautiful area, and the sunsets are simply amazing."
