Bar on Dallas' Henderson Avenue takes break for Family Guy pop-up
Henderson Avenue bar The Whippersnapper is taking the month of January off and will transform itself into a pop-up inspired by a TV show.
Called The Drunken Clam, the pop-up is based on the watering hole in the TV show Family Guy. The remodeled bar, located at 1806 McMillan Ave., will open January 4.
Dallas-based This & That Concepts, the folks behind neighborhood spots such as High Fives, Tiny Victories, Ferris Wheelers, and Dibs on Victory, are bringing The Drunken Clam to life with a nearly identical exterior façade and interior design; 30 days of specialty drinks; and several surprises Family Guy fans will enjoy.
"We have some exciting plans for The Whip moving forward, but we thought we'd have a little fun first by bringing The Drunken Clam to Dallas," says Brandon Hays of This & That.
A PR representative for the company predicts that the pop-up will be national news. Guess we'll see if that pans out.
The Drunken Clam pop-up runs until February 2, after which the bar will be remodeled and re-opened for The Whippersnapper's third anniversary.
The Drunken Clam pop-up will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. all month long. For more information, call 469.567.3358 or visit thewhipdallas.com.
