Where to drink in Dallas right now: 5 best new happy hours for February

Our February rendition of Where to Drink focuses, as always, on the best new happy hours we could find. This month, the theme is variety. These HHs are located in different parts of town, with different specials, both food and drink, be it beer, wine, cocktails, or more.
Here's where to drink for February:
Da Mario
Italian restaurant at The Star in Frisco is said to be like a journey to the Amalfi Coast, an escape to Sicily, or a romantic experience in Tuscany. At least, that's what Da Mario says. Their happy hour takes place in the bar only, with great deals that include $6 for draft beer, and $7 to $10 for wines by the glass. There are also $7 cocktails: Negroni with choice of gin or bourbon, and an Italian spritz. Discounts on snacks include $6 for tomato bruschetta; $8 for a Magherita pizza; and $9 for pizza with pancetta. Hours: Monday-Friday 5-7 pm.
Doc B's Restaurant + Bar
Fun hangout with house-made food and vibrant outdoor patio with fire feature begins its new happy with a freebie: complimentary candied bacon. All of the happy hour eats are $12 and under and include filet mignon sliders with fries, chicken wings, Cajun chicken littles, barbecue ribs, and more. Craft cocktails are $7, and you get $6 off all wine and bubbles, $4 off draft beer, $5 off spirits, and more. Hours: Monday-Friday 4-6 pm.
Gemma
One of Dallas' highest rated restaurants has a happy hour aimed at night-owls. It's a "reverse" happy hour that includes deals not just on drinks but snacks, too. Oysters are $2. Select beers are $3. Specialty cocktails are $6, as are select white or red wines by the glass. It starts late and it ends even later. Hours: Tuesday-Sunday 10:30 pm-1 am.
Meso Maya West Plano
West Plano location of this Mexican restaurant that's part of the Firebird Group (El Fenix, La Ventana) has launched a new, later happy hour that features discounts on food and drink. All appetizers are $5 when you’re seated in the bar. And there's a $5 price that extends from house margaritas, to wine, wells, select beer, queso, and guacamole. Bring all your $5s. Hours: Monday-Friday 4-7 pm.
White Rock Alehouse & Brewery
This east Dallas home to local craft beer, which just released a honey wheat ale called Capsized Kayak, features across-the-board discounts at its happy hour that include $2 off house beer on tap and $1 off guest beer taps. Wine on tap is also $2 off, and there's a craft cocktail menu with $5 off drinks. They also give $2 off all flatbreads & their tuna nachos. Hours: Monday-Friday 3-6 pm.
