Where to Drink
Where to drink in Dallas right now: Best new happy hours for April

The April installment of our monthly "Where to Drink" column wanders far and wide. By far, we mean north, and by wide we mean west. East and south, you're out of luck.
But as is our custom, Where to Drink focuses exclusively on the best new happy hours, without regard for where. If there's a new deal to be found, it's here.
These new options range from downtown Dallas, north to Plano, and west to Irving.
Here are the best new happy hours for April.
Elm St. Cask & Kitchen
Newly-reconceived restaurant at the LTV Tower apartment building isn't kidding around with its happy hour spread. Shareable dishes such as crispy chicken wings, pinto bean hummus, crushed avocado spread, pimento dip, and other Southern-inspired bites are all $5. Moscow mules, peach tea punch, red and white wine, draft beer, and TX Bourbon by the shot are also $5. The restaurant also offers a $12 happy hour special that includes a chili dog, draft beer, and a shot of TX Bourbon. Monday-Friday 2-7 pm.
Jinya Ramen Bar
Newly opened restaurant in Victory Park isn't wasting any time, starting its happy hour from the get-go. It includes beer and sake from $4, all cocktails for $7, and a variety of small plates starting at $3.25 or the Jinya bun. There's a quinoa salad for $4.50, caramelized cauliflower for $3.50, crispy chicken for $4.50, and a "cheezy" Parmesan meatball for $5. Mini tacos are $4 and include salmon poke and pork chashu with kimchee. Daily 3-6:30 pm.
Kabuki
Restaurant at Toyota Music Factory in Irving is doing a late-night happy hour with $2 off draft beers, $1 off bottled beer, $1 off wine by the glass, which is not really such a deal, and $2 off well drinks. There's also a menu of food items, most of which seem to be discounted by $1-$2. Shrimp tempura roll is $8.95 instead of $10.95, sesame chicken is $3 off at $8.95, and Brussels sprouts are $4.95 instead of $5.95. Monday-Thursday 8-10 pm, Sunday 8-9 pm.
Ocean Prime Dallas
Happy hour deal is available in the OP Lounge or on the terrace. The lounge menu has small bites as an accompaniment to cocktails, select beers, and wines. Menu items include Prime sliders with cheddar and jalapeño-bacon relish; a "Dallas" sushi roll with shrimp tempura, crab salad, mango sauce, sriracha, and soy paper; and salmon dip with caviar and pretzel bread. Special drinks include a martini with pineapple-infused Finlandia Vodka, pear grapefruit fizz, and a single-barrel Sazerac cocktail. Monday-Friday 4-7 pm.
