Gino's East pizzeria sets date to begin DFW deep-dish domination
UPDATE: The opening date has been pushed to May 4.
---
There is an end in sight for those who have been waiting patiently for Gino’s East pizzeria to arrive in Dallas-Fort Worth: April 30 is opening day for the Arlington branch coming to 1350 E. Copeland Rd.
The news came out in September 2014 that Austin-based ATX Brands, operator of breastaurant chain Bikinis, would bring the first Gino’s East franchises to Texas. There are now two in the Houston area and one in San Antonio. Arlington will be the fourth, and another is coming soon to Austin.
The menu at the Gino’s East in Arlington will have the signature pizzas, such as Gino’s Supreme with sausage or pepperoni, fresh onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. But there are some Texified items, such as deep-dish nachos and BBQ Brisket Za with brisket, caramelized onions, and red and yellow peppers.
But deep dish isn’t the only style pizza offered. There will be thin-crust options too, such as the Chicago Fire Pizza with hot and spicy patty-style sausage, fire-roasted red peppers, and red onions. The beer program will include local options — Deep Ellum IPA, Rahr & Sons Texas Red and Revolver Blood & Honey — and a selection from Chicago’s own Goose Island Beer Company.
Grand opening is Thursday, April 30, 2-10 pm, and Friday, May 1, 2-11 pm. Regular business hours start May 2: Sunday-Thursday, 11 am-10 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 11 am-11 pm.
