A bunch of boozy dinners top the best food and drink events in Dallas
Now that your Memorial Day meat sweats are finally subsiding, it’s time to get back on the saddle and eat good food. There’s no rest here as this week brings beer dinners, beer launches, wine tastings, wine dinners and a cookout in Deep Ellum. You have to have a cookout during the summer. It’s required by law.

Libertine All Local Beer Dinner
The Libertine keeps it local with five breweries on tap for a five-course meal at 7 pm. Courses include smoked sesame salmon with a Thai chili glaze paired with a house-cellared Lakewood Bourbon Barrel Temptress. Tickets are $50 per person. Call 214-824-7900 for reservations.

La Dame du Lac Launch at Common Table
Lakewood Brewing Company launches the second of its Legendary Series, La Dame du Lac, a biere de garde that pays homage to the Lady of White Rock Lake. The beer is available beginning at 5 pm.

Real Ale Beer Dinner at Cook Hall
Cook Hall in the W Dallas Victory Hotel hosts its first beer dinner with Real Ale Brewing Co. The five-course dinner includes Rio Blanco Pale Ale with a cheese and charcuterie board and the Devil’s Backbone with a grilled rib-eye steak with herb avocado and pickled sweet peppers. Complimentary Wine Tasting at Domaine Wine Company
Enjoy a complimentary wine tasting with crisp summer wines and champagne from 3 to 5 pm. Food pairings from chef Shaun Collins include tuna with wasabi foam and tobiko and braised and glazed chicken drumsticks.
Rhythm and Booze at Common Desk
Common Desk in Deep Ellum throws an outdoor cookout with barbecue from Mama Faye’s and live music from Tony Schwa. The cookout starts at noon and goes to 5 pm, with a beer pong tournament and bottomless beer and barbecue for $15 online or $20 at the door.

Clos du Val Wine Dinner at Landmark Restaurant
The Landmark Restaurant at the Warwick Melrose hosts a four-course dinner with winemaker Kristy Melton, who was recently featured in Wine Enthusiast as one of the “40 Under 40 — changing the way the world drinks.” Dishes include Kung Pao pork belly with apricot puree, lime zest and peanuts on toast points paired with a 2012 Close du Val Carneros Chardonnay.
