Super healthy restaurant chain opens in McKinney in nick of time
McKinney, your lucky number is up: Super healthy restaurant chain Original ChopShop is opening a location in this Collin County burg, in a new build at the corner of Custer Road and Eldorado Parkway.
According to a release, the restaurant is slated to open in June, and not a moment too soon. With the coronavirus bearing down on us all, there can surely be no better time for a healthy restaurant to open.
Original ChopShop was founded in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2013. They currently have 14 locations, all either in Phoenix or North Texas. We matter!
The menu includes protein bowls, salads ("chops"), sandwiches, juice, shakes, acai bowls, breakfast items, and parfaits. It provides dietary-friendly items for all, including food free of gluten, dairy, lactose, and soy, along with vegetarian and vegan options.
Original ChopShop CEO Jason Morgan says in a statement that the chain is enthusiastic about McKinney. "This community is largely underserved when it comes to convenient better-for-you food options, so we are thrilled to bring our multi-faceted, 'Just Feel Good' menu to the area," he says.
The McKinney shop will be 3,558 square feet, with sunny accents, distressed wood, handwritten notes, and local vintage photography.
And this is new: It will also feature a drive-thru pickup window.
"This will also be our first shop systemwide to feature a pickup window, so guests can enjoy a low-contact, fast experience when they call ahead or order online," Morgan says.
This will be the seventh location in Dallas-Fort Worth, joining recently opened locations in Allen and Lakewood, along with Las Colinas, the Shops at Legacy in Plano, Park & Preston in Plano, and Hillcrest Avenue in the Park Cities.
