Sprouts Farmers Market to open new store east of Dallas in Mesquite

Healthy supermarket chain Sprouts Farmers Market is opening a new location in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, this one to the east.
The company will open a store in Mesquite in a center just east of Town East Mall off 635.
The grocery will be at 1220 N. Town East Blvd., at the intersection of Galloway Road, in what was previously a Babies R Us store. A spokesperson said that the company has only announced new openings through the end of 2019, but a company representative confirmed that the location will open in early 2020.
There are currently 23 Sprouts stores in the DFW area, with the closest located in Rowlett. Other stores are in East Dallas, Frisco, Carrollton, Allen, Plano, Richardson, Lake Highlands, McKinney, Fort Worth, Arlington, Denton, and Southlake.
The only grocery nearby is a Walmart Neighborhood Market that's two blocks north.
In addition to servicing a large residential population nearby, the new Sprouts promises to be a destination for residents in far east Dallas neighborhoods that are starting to gentrify, such as Buckner Terrace and Casa View.
Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Sprouts stores sell fresh, natural, and organic foods at more reasonable prices than similar chains whose names shall not be uttered.
Sprouts is noted for offering thousands of healthy items, including its own Sprouts Brand product line; and occupying slightly smaller footprint stores, about 30,000 square feet versus the 60,000-square-foot size of a large Tom Thumb.
Their shopping experience includes fresh produce, a deli with prepared entrees and side dishes, a butcher shop and fish market, a vitamins and supplements department, and a large section of bulk bins with items, such as nuts, grains, and chocolates.
Sprouts operates more than 300 stores in 20 states. They've been a driving force for making healthy food affordable and accessible, and have also paved the way for numerous natural brands.
Part of the company's ethos is its commitment to zero waste, both to reduce the impact of hunger and its own environmental footprint. In 2018, Sprouts stores and distribution centers donated 27 million pounds of product, equivalent to 23 million meals. Food not fit for donation is provided to cattle farms and composting facilities.
