Downtown Dining
Gather Kitchen fills healthy bowl needs for downtown Dallas diners
A healthy new restaurant specializing in bowls is now open in downtown Dallas. Gather Kitchen is a fast-casual concept inside Thanksgiving Tower that aims to serve quality food, quickly, with meals that are nutritious and affordable.
There are bowls for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Customers choose a base, then toppings from a choice of vegetables; protein; and sauces, made daily without sugar or additives. Options include zucchini "noodles," cauliflower "rice," poached shrimp, grass-fed beef crumble, basil-cashew-pesto, and six-pepper Mexican sauce.
Gather comes from partners Soraya Spencer and Nicki Hamilton. Spencer is a native of Algeria born into a family of chefs who has opened and operated restaurants internationally. Hamilton came into the kitchen as a way to combat a health concern. They share a commitment to whole, non-processed foods, served in an innovative, fast-food model.
Gather Kitchen is open 8 am to 8 pm, Monday through Saturday, which is sure to please the downtown residential community, who appreciates a business that stays open on weekend days.
It took them a year to find the right location in Thanksgiving Tower. Gather Kitchen is part of the renovation of the iconic downtown building. The 2,400-square-foot restaurant features an outdoor seating area, and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of downtown Dallas.
"Gather Kitchen fills an actual need here in Dallas so we wanted to make sure that we would be where people needed us," Spencer says. "We cater to everyone's food preferences and tastes. At Gather Kitchen, you can satisfy your cravings but still feel good. We wanted a quick but satisfying restaurant experience with the ability to customize your order to stay or on-the-go."
