Dee Lincoln rolls out the burgers at her new Uptown Dallas steak spot

That was fast. Dee Lincoln has announced an opening date for Dee Lincoln Steak & Burger Bar, which is going into the old JoJo's space: Thursday, September 12. Lunch service will begin Monday, September 16.

The menu consists of steakhouse fare and burgers in a comfortable and relaxed setting. Chef is Juliard Ishizuka, who has worked with Lincoln since 2011.

The menu makes for a fascinating summary of every current trend: kale, Kennebec fries, Brussels sprouts, "steakhouse street tacos," a bag of beignets for dessert.

Following the mode of Hopdoddy, Liberty, Goodfriend and every other burger place that has opened since 2012, Dee Lincoln Steak & Burger Bar has a list of eight to 10 burgers, plus three cuts of steaks and a fresh catch of the day.

The menu makes for a fascinating summary of every current trend. There's kale, Kennebec fries, Brussels sprouts, sweet potato fries, "steakhouse street tacos" (with tenderloin, corn hash and Hatch chile salsa), a bag of beignets for dessert. I mean, this thing has it all.

Burgers include a cheeseburger, lamb burger, turkey burger, tuna burger, a "Benedict" with an egg on top, and one standout entry: a crab cake burger. That's original.

There is also an appetizer of Japanese eggplant in a miso glaze with bonito shavings and daikon sprouts; sounds like an Ishizuka dish.

The wine list will feature 100 wines under $100, which sounds catchy — although maybe not as catchy as "25 wines under $25"? And following another current trend, there will be local beer and craft cocktails.

Lincoln, who still has two branches of her Dee Lincoln's Tasting Room & Bubble Bar at Cowboys Stadium and Rosewood Court, says in the release that her loyal clientele will come for a steak, but she is trying to draw the younger Uptown Dallas diner as well. Ergo the burger.

Dallas may still be reeling over the imminent closure of its beloved, iconic downtown Neiman Marcus, but the beat goes on at the luxury retailer with a new campaign celebrating the synergy between fashion and culinary culture.

Called Café Society, it's a 360-degree campaign appearing across digital, social, and print media in addition to its owned online channels.

In stores, the campaign will surface in window displays, interior presentations, and immersive events.

Captured by Bobby Doherty and shot at Mr. Chow Beverly Hills, the campaign honors Neiman Marcus’ culinary history and how restaurants have always served as places to see and be seen. The campaign stars Pat Cleveland and Michael Chow (Mr. Chow) with notable names such Kathy Hilton, Ivy Getty, Lucky Blue Smith, Nara Smith, China Chow, Dallas' own Cindy Rachofsky, Mobolaji Dawodu, and Pierce Abernathy.

Neiman Marcus is thrilled to celebrate this timeless intersection with our customers through Café Society."

According to a release, the campaign will begin with a series of dining events at five key locations including the store at NorthPark Center, dates still TBA:

Dallas/NorthPark Center: an evening with the iconic New York institution Caviar Kaspia at The Mark, known for signature dishes such as the legendary Twice Baked Potato served with the finest caviar
San Francisco: a dinner presented in partnership with Sotheby’s and featuring Neiman Marcus Executive Chef Jessica Oost
Miami: an intimate Bouchon experience with Thomas Keller
Washington D.C.: an evening by Kwame Onwuachi
Los Angeles: dinner with Mr. Chow and China Chow, with a retail partnership featuring Mr. Chow merchandise

The retailer will also host exclusive tasting tables at its restaurants in select markets throughout the spring, including Dallas. These coveted reservations will showcase luxurious tablescapes that highlight Neiman Marcus' various home décor collections from names such as Versace, Ginori 1735, Jan Barboglio, and Baccarat.

Dallas NorthPark will partner with Ginori 1735 from February 24-March 24 to offer a Ginori 1735 tasting table experience in the NM Café as part of the campaign festivities.

In late spring, Neiman Marcus will also debut A Pocket Guide to Great Taste, a digital cookbook edited by NYTimes food editor Christine Muhlke with contributions from designers such as Christian Louboutin, Carolina Cuccinelli, Simone Rocha, Wes Gordon, Francis Kurkdjian, Manolo Blahnik, Sergio Hudson, and Ulla Johnson, sharing their favorite restaurants, dishes, personal culinary memories, and traditions. Plus a selection of iconic Neiman Marcus recipes.

Customers can experience the Neiman Marcus magic online, in-store, and at its food and beverage outlets in 29 stores across the country.
