Dallas celebrity chef Tiffany Derry debuts new Italian restaurant Radici
A new restaurant by Dallas celebrity chef Tiffany Derry is about to debut: Called Radici Wood-Fired Grill, it's an Italian restaurant featuring pastas made in-house that'll open in Farmers Branch at 12990 Bee St. on May 1.
Radici comes from T2D Concepts, the hospitality group led by chef Derry and partner Tom Foley, whose other concepts include Roots Chicken Shak, Roots Southern Table, and 'Shef Tiffany, Derry's spice and apparel line.
According to a release, Radici draws inspiration from Derry’s early experiences in Italian restaurants, Foley’s maternal heritage, and both Derry’s and Foley’s travels through Italy. The menu centers around meats and vegetables prepared in a wood-fired grill and a selection of fresh pastas made daily.
Starters include risotto croquette with pork sausage, chicken liver, pomodoro, and smoked mozzarella.
The Primo course highlights pastas including lasagna, which Derry prepares in the style of Modena with white bolognese, sage, spinach pasta, parmesan, and nutmeg.
For Secondo, fire-roasted meats and vegetables range from a 14 oz Rosewood ribeye “Fiorentina style” with charred lemon and chicory salad, to Eggplant Involtini with ricotta, smoked mozzarella, parmesan, calabrian chili, pomodoro, and basil.
Desserts include tiramisu, affogato, or pistachio olive oil cake.
“Radici represents a special part of my culinary roots because Italian was the first cuisine I learned to cook professionally," Derry says in a statement. “I can’t wait to bring to our vibrant dining scene what I’ve learned cooking with les Nonne and years of traveling to Italy to explore its vast 20 regions.”
Beverages include spirit-free cocktails and traditional cocktails such as the martini served with a sidecar, negroni, housemade limoncello and Derry’s go-to: Aperol spritz.
Wines include natural options and are predominantly focused on Italian varieties, organized by a map to guide guests to a glass or bottle.
Decor is centered around an open kitchen with a wood-fired grill, all within a cozy dining room with natural wood and burgundy tones. There's also a six-seat chef’s table with a view of the kitchen, and a semi-private dining room.
Limited reservations will be made available first to the T2D Concepts community, then open to the public online beginning April 30.
