Double D’s Bar, a new bar in the Design District, will open on November 23, just in time for Thanksgiving, when they’ll be open 8 pm-2 am for your holiday drinking needs. designed to be a comfortable, inclusive space to hang out with friends, Double D's is named for the "Design District," wink wink, the bar showcases the signature fun play on words favored by their hospitality group owners This & That Hospitality, responsible for gems such as The Whippersnapper.
Jakes GameDay has opened its location in Plano in the former Endzone at 3033 W. Parker Rd. This family-friendly sports bar is much like a Jakes Burgers & Beer, but with added features including games and family-friendly amusements. This follows a location that opened in Dallas' Lake Highlands in October, also in a former Endzone. "We bought all of the former End Zone bars, which we'll spruce up - they were all in great neighborhoods so we'll be closing them and transforming them," says VP of operations Kendra Shier.
Salad and Go, which describes itself as an emerging QSR industry disruptor committed to revolutionizing fast food — sounds delish — is opening five more locations around Dallas-Fort Worth, four of which are debuting in Grand Prairie, Allen, Rockwall, and McKinney. No city shall lack a Salad and Go disruptor. The list is as follows:

Eataly Dallas is celebrating the return of fresh white truffles in season with all-new truffle dishes in their restaurants, fresh white truffles in their marketplace, and new truffle pizza at their Pizza alla Pala counter. Native to Italy, the white truffle grows from September-December in the forests of Piemonte, particularly in the region of Alba. The tartufo bianco is a particularly treasured variety thanks to its golden color, pungent aroma, and delicate, earthy flavor. During Truffle Days from November 22-23, Eataly will offer fresh white truffles at the lowest price of the season.
Anaya’s Seafood Scratch Kitchen has new chalkboard specials that include cornbread-crusted cod & shrimp with jalapeño-cranberry relish, butternut squash hash, & Brussel sprouts; and a 3-cheese ravioli with blackened shrimp, crabmeat, béchamel & marinara sauce, & sautéed spinach. At all three locations in Plano, Richardson, and Addison/North Dallas.
Modern Market has a new winter menu featuring a Greens & Grains bowl with arugula, tomato, grains in a scallion ranch dressing; Nicoise with tuna, olives, green beans, potatoes, tomatoes, and boiled egg; braised Angus beef bowl with garlic mashed potatoes, mushrooms, & kale Caesar salad; a Winter Garden salad with greens, shredded carrot, tomato, red onion, & crumbled goat cheese; pizza topped with Brussels sprouts & bacon; fire-roasted veggies plate with Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, & carrot; and a Nutella Belgian waffle with toasted coconut & almond.
La Francaise Bakery, the wholesale bakery that became a pandemic phenomenon during COVID when they sold their breads and baked goods to the public, is making a limited-time return to retail with a menu of bargain-priced holiday goodies, including croissants (4 for $10), cornbread with corn & cheese ($7 for an 8-inch round), holiday pull-apart and wheat rolls ($6 for a dozen), plus breads including cranberry-pecan, jalapeno-cheddar, and Pullman-style sliced. Tokyo Shokudo Texas in Plano has a new izakaya menu featuring a selection of small Japanese dishes served from 4-10 pm daily that include shishito peppers, spicy celery with spicy sesame, tuna chatter sashimi, salmon sashimi, tempura shrimp, avocado tempura, grilled vinegared mackerel with wasabi, quail eggs with Japanese mustard, grilled sausage, grilled eggplant with miso sauce, and pan-seared maitake with garlic soy. Prices are cheap, from $5 to $16.
Carrabba’s is doing a limited-time 3-course dinner for two for $44, featuring appetizer to share, soup or salad, and entrées with choices from stuffed mushrooms, zucchini fritte, Sicilian chicken soup, Caesar salad, eggplant parmesan, lasagna, spaghetti, rigatoni with Italian sausage, chicken, pork chop, or sirloin.
Dillas Quesadillas has brought back its Frito Pie Dilla for a limited time. It consists of chili cheese Fritos, ground beef, a hatch queso drizzle, and red onions and will be available through November 23.
