Meatball-loving restaurant Sicilian Butcher to open in North Dallas
An uber-buzzy Italian restaurant is coming to North Dallas: Called The Sicilian Butcher, it's a modern casual restaurant serving craft meatballs, five-foot charcuterie platters, and house-made pasta, and it will open a location near Addison at 5225 Belt Line Rd. #240, in a space previously occupied by Sushi Axiom.
According to a spokesperson, the restaurant will open in summer 2025.
The Sicilian Butcher is from celebrity chef and concept king Joey Maggiore, who co-founded the concept with his wife, Cristina Maggiore, and their business partner, Flora Tersigni.
Maggiore says he was inspired by his father, Tomaso, a Sicilian-born chef, to create a restaurant that embodied his passion for Italian cuisine.
“The Sicilian Butcher is a testament to that dream, offering delectable experiences and flavors that wow our guests," he says.
The menu is known for enticing items such as char-grilled artichokes, Neapolitan-style pizza, and piadina sandwiches including chicken parm and eggplant parm, served on a thin, rustic Italian bread.
They have all kinds of meatballs — Sicilian, sausage, eggplant — which you can order solo or in a variety, served on a meatball "wheel."
Pastas include pappardelle, tagliatelle, spaghetti, rigatoni, and gnocchi. Salads include a Caesar, chopped, and a "Sicilian wedge" with iceberg, pickled fennel, tomato, crispy prosciutto, with creamy dolce gorgonzola and smoked bacon dressing.
The bar serves craft cocktails including four versions of the Negroni, the classic Italian drink, plus sangria, craft beers, and AF drinks.
This is their second area location — the chain made its DFW debut in north Fort Worth in July 2024 -- and only the fifth location overall, joining three other locations in their home state of Arizona.
Each location of The Sicilian Butcher houses a sister concept called The Sicilian Baker, which features a build-your-own cannoli bar, pastries, gelato, espresso and other Sicilian sweets. Construction is underway and one exciting twist for this location is that it will feature a patio.
The company also has a brunch concept called Hash Kitchen which opened a location in Fort Worth, next door to The Sicilian Butcher, in spring 2024. Both concepts are part of Savory Fund, a private equity firm investing in emerging restaurant concepts, who acquired Hash Kitchen in 2021 and The Sicilian Butcher in 2022, with plans to expand both concepts nationwide.
