Dallas young professionals will have a field day at this fun new fundraiser
Dallas' already vibrant young professionals scene just got brighter with the establishment of a new fundraiser by the young Community Partners of Dallas (yCPD). This "big kids" group has been around for two years, but the board just gave them the go-ahead to step things up a notch with a new event they are calling Field Day.
Field Day takes place May 16 at The Rustic and features traditional field day activities for teams of six, such as tug-of-war, water balloon toss and three-legged races. Also expect drinks, bites and live entertainment.
Event chair Lilly Neubauer was first inspired by the work done at CPD while on a Junior League bus tour. She is thrilled to start an event that allows young leaders in the community to be a part of the healing process for the one in four Dallas children who are abused.
"I think the concept of a casual, outdoor and playfully competitive event on the young professional spring fundraising calendar completes a very diverse offering of ways for people our age to socialize and give back," Neubauer says.
The funds raised from yCPD Field Day go straight to the nonprofit, to help the kids that CPD serves through its many programs. This also includes providing items such as winter coats, diapers, formula, holiday gifts, school uniforms, personal hygiene products, food and more.
"Millennials are known for their interest in fitness, community and philanthropy, and I think a field day event brings all three concepts together for a really fun afternoon," Neubauer adds.
The cost to register your team of six is $350; sponsorships start at $500. For more information, visit the Community Partners of Dallas website or contact Sarah Charbonnet at 214-624-7621 or sarah@cpdtx.org.
