Century-old rivalries die hard, apparently. Although Texas A&M left the Big 12 to join ranks with the SEC this season (after displaying disgust at the University of Texas football program's Longhorn Network), some Aggies still can't let go of that good, old-fashioned one-upmanship, as evidenced by a barrage of graffiti that appeared on the UT campus over the weekend.
Scrawled across building windows, sacred statue bases and thick concrete walls are tell-tale Aggie vocabulary words like "Howdy," "Gig 'em," "Whoop!" and "Farmers fight" in red spray paint. The only thing that seems to be missing is the tackiest of all, "Saw 'em off."
"SEC" and "Do you miss us yet?" were also sprayed, showing the vandals have a grasp of current events and a sense of humor.
Daily Texan reports that the UT Police Department is still searching for the tagger or taggers responsible for the mess and that cleanup has been underway since Saturday.
Vandalism isn't an uncommon offense on either side of this rivalry, but remember the Aggie branding that gave Bevo his name? We've got to say, those Aggies could have done better than this chicken scratch.
