Condé Nast names Dallas Ritz-Carlton and Rosewood properties among world's best
Enjoy your recent stay — or staycation — at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel? You aren't alone. Condé Nast ranked the Philip Johnson-designed property as No. 1 in Texas for 2013.
It's no surprise, really, as the Crescent has made the cut for five years running. But a commitment to excellence should be regularly lauded.
The Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek is also on the Gold List of top Texas hotels, as is the Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. The Gold List features what's deemed to be the top hotels, resorts and cruise lines in the world with only 510 total selected from around the globe.
For the ranking, the magazine compiles the survey responses of nearly 47,000 readers. Visitors recognized the “amazing rooms,” which overlook the hotel’s courtyard and all have sitting areas. “You are treated like royalty," one reader said.
The only Houston spot on the Gold List was Hotel Sorella, a concept built in 2009 by the locally owned Valencia Group. Visitors praised Sorella's classic luxury, modern minimalism and high style; its rooftop pool with draped cabanas; on-site amenities like Bistro Alex and Monnalisa Bar; and its convenient location in the midst of a bustling shopping district with easy access to the highways.
