Soon after the death of his father, a young Jewish boy growing up in 1980s Brooklyn, meets an older Jewish man, Alfred Foxman (Peter Riegert), at the local synagogue. The two quickly strike up a friendship as Alfred imparts life lessons during their daily walks through Danny’s neighborhood. Twenty-five years later, an older Danny will discover the surprising secret Alfred was keeping from  him all along.
