Dallas Public Library presents Time Along A Wasted Line Opening Reception

eventdetail

The theme of Monika Bell’s recent work is momentum towards creative dreams. When that momentum is evaluated against mundane tasks and habits, creative time seems lost becoming time along a wasted line. Representing this motif are two series of watercolors in addition to string, common objects, and animal imagery. When linked together, these materials create textured fabrics and layered sculptures. To address the excess of modern convenience the presentation is rich with reused, recycled, and repurposed materials while staying true to the theme’s otherworldly aesthetic.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through July 31.
