Dallas has been added to the list of dates on a tour by Amy Schumer, who will bring her live show to Winspear Opera House on November 15. Tickets go on sale to the general public on October 19 at 10 am.
A standup comedian, actress, writer, producer, and director, Schumer is also the creator, star, writer, and executive producer of the popular, award-winning Comedy Central series Inside Amy Schumer.
Her 2015 film Trainwreck dominated that summer's box office and earned her the Critics' Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy. She was also nominated for a Writers' Guild Award in the category of Original Screenplay for the same film.
Schumer starred and produced the STX comedy I Feel Pretty, which came out in April 2018. She also has a regular podcast called Amy Schumer Presents: 3 Girls, 1 Keith, with Bridget Everett, Rachel Feinstein, and Keith Robinson, which airs on Spotify; new episodes will air beginning October 23.
Her last tour was in 2016 and it stopped in Austin and Houston, but not Dallas. The last time she played in Dallas was in 2014 when she performed at the Theater at Grand Prairie.
In 2017, her first book, the New York Times bestseller The Girl with The Lower Back Tattoo, earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Spoken Word Album.
On October 4, she was among nearly 300 people arrested at a protest against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in Washington D.C.
At the Winspear, no cellphones, cameras, or recording devices will be allowed. Upon arrival, all phones and smart watches will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be unlocked at the end of the show. If needed, guests can access their phones at designated Yondr unlocking stations in the lobby.
All guests are encouraged to print their tickets in advance to ensure a smooth entry process. Anyone caught with a cellphone in the venue will be immediately ejected.
