Dallas’ favorite home shopping event returns April 8, when the annual Thrift Studio pops up in the Dallas Design District (1444 Oaklawn Ave., Ste. 545). This time around, nine design teams created vignettes to showcase the chic goods available at steep discounts, and we got an advance look at their visions.

As always, proceeds from Thrift Studio benefit Dwell with Dignity, which helps families escape poverty and homelessness. Thrift Studio is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-5:30 pm, until May 7.

Robert William Dailey Interiors + Brendan Bass Showroom + Robert Allen

Vignette Inspiration: I have always been inspired by the collecting and sharing spirit of Texans, always bringing things together and happy to enjoy their experiences and acquisitions with others. In the spirit of collecting, I’m imagining a modern Texas collector that appreciates vintage objects but is not bound by the tradition of displaying them as a museum, rather mixing them in with the new and enjoying them in daily life.

A sort of modern-day Tony Duquette-meets-Kelly Wearstler. Our vignette was inspired by a fabulous vintage rug we unearthed at the DwD Warehouse. Its charming chinoiserie design is amplified by the bold colors of deep midnight blue and shocking orange and balanced with an earthy camel.

Shay Geyer, IBB Design Fine Furnishings

Vignette Inspiration: Inspired by Dwell with Dignity’s work to bring happiness to the homes of deserving families, we chose dynamic jewel tones. Jewel tones evoke happiness and the vibrancy of life. To complement teal, fuchsia, and blue, metallic accessories bring a touch of luxe to the vignette.

Tiffany Taylor and Flann Harris, Scout Design Studio

Vignette Inspiration: In keeping with Scout Design Studio's aesthetic of modern, offbeat beauty, the vignette our team created for Thrift Studio captures our love of mixing different elements to create a cohesive space. Guided by our vintage finds from Scout, we've selected a color palette and furnishings that convey our spirited eclecticism. We hope you enjoy our vignette and embrace our belief that interiors, like life, shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Margaret Chambers, Chambers Interiors and Associates + Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman and Thibaut

Vignette Inspiration: Escape from the urban streets to this well-traveled bachelor’s retreat. This warm and intimate space brings together handcrafted details and primitive finishes that add texture and character to these contemporary furnishings. Step into a room that is chic, yet masculine, and neutral with a touch of the exotic.

Emily Johnston Larkin, EJ Interiors + Design Directions + Duralee

Vignette Inspiration: Our vignette was inspired by wisteria, a beautiful flowering plant that is a light lavender color. We paired this sweet purple hue with a dramatic dark navy for graphic contrast. We then added light neutrals, such as various shades of gray and white, to keep the color palette fresh, clean, and current.

Amy Berry, Amy Berry Design + Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams + Benson-Cobb

Vignette Inspiration: We are going back to the basics, selecting colors that are warm, welcoming, and modern at the same time. Curating a space of objects we love is a testament to how opposites sometimes attract. Our subtle palette was chosen to enhance the objects within it, creating a space that we hope will bring harmony and comfort. We are so honored to be partnering with Dwell with Dignity for such an amazing event that helps so many.

Stephen Dunn, Stephen Dunn Designs + Kravet

Vignette Inspiration: Over the ages, color trends come and go depending on the design industry's whim. Black, red, and white, however, remain timeless, perfect, powerful, and impactful no matter the era or how the designer wishes to utilize them.

Brant McFarlain, R Brant Design + Jean de Merry

Vignette Inspiration: Inspired by our Jean De Merry pieces, we designed a sultry and debonair gentlemen's bedroom en suite. Our multifarious arrangements create intimacy throughout the space. Comfortable yet sophisticated, this pied-a-terre makes leaving difficult.

Pam Kelley, Pam Kelley Designs and Shelly Rosenberg, Shelly Rosenberg Studio + Loloi Rugs + Schumacher

Vignette Inspiration: Jet-setting fashion moguls experience high-rise living at its best. Classic lines and luxurious fabrics, layered with global influences, create a warm, transitional haven for busy professionals on the go. Welcome to the ultimate Dallas penthouse!
