Pirch, a retailer of high-end kitchen and bathroom appliances and fixtures, plans to shut down its location in Dallas.

In a statement supplied to Bloomberg, Pirch says it’s concentrating on its four profitable stores in California and shuttering the six others. It also has closed its store in Austin.  “Pirch has made the strategic decision to refocus its footprint and pace of expansion,” the statement says.

Kristen Gibbens, NorthPark's marketing director, confirmed the closing, saying "Pirch will be closing all storefronts outside of California as part of a corporate restructuring. The NorthPark Center location will remain open until the end of the month to fulfill orders and service needs for their North Texas customers."

Pirch premiered its Dallas outpost at NorthPark Center in 2014.

In May, Pirch opened its first and only Austin location, a 21,000-square-foot showroom with two working kitchens, as well as showers and faucets with running water. Pirch embraces a “try it before you buy it” approach.

On Wednesday, September 13, a sign posted on the front door of the Austin store said it was closed for “summer inventory.”

Aside from the Dallas and Austin stores, Pirch is closing outlets in Atlanta; Chicago; New York City; and Paramus, New Jersey. The four stores in Southern California will remain open.

Pirch says each of its showrooms “promises guests an elevated experience that will educate and inform, whether shopping for a single appliance or seeking inspiration for a complete renovation.”

In the statement about store closures, the company says: “We remain confident that our unique business model will be successful on a more focused scale, and we are committed to delivering on our founding mission of providing customers exciting new ways to shop for the home through our innovative multi-brand immersion experience.”
