We'll Drink to That
New members-only app will buy you a round of drinks at Dallas' top bars
Ready your smartphone, because there’s a new app you’re going to want to download immediately. It involves complimentary cocktails. Do we have your attention yet?
Okay, so they’re not totally free, but for $9.99 per month you can enjoy a free beverage every single day at participating Dallas restaurants and bars. Meet Hooch, a new subscription-based app that just launched in Dallas and aims to create a "private cocktail society" that "echoes the Prohibition speakeasies."
How does it work? Once downloaded to your phone, you can choose from a variety of venues, scroll through the drink options, and then head to the place to show your bartender the app. Hooch will then buy you a round of drinks.
“Texans love Hooch!" said CEO Lin Dai in a release. "Dallas has one of the most diverse food and drink cultures in the nation, and with partners such as Misery Loves Company, we can’t wait to introduce Hooch to over 2 million residents.”
Misery Loves Company is the hospitality firm behind Proof + Pantry and Madrina, which are both participating. Other places where you can belly up to the bar and get your free drink include The Mitchell, Savor, Armoury D.E., Nickel and Rye, Citizen, Bown House, and Rapscallion, to name a few.
Hooch is available in the Apple Store or on Google Play for $9.99/month or $99/year. Memberships are also available in New York, LA, and Austin.
