Hotel ZaZa's new summer cocktail kit infuses bubbles in every sip
Just about every bar in Dallas has some sort of summer cocktail designed to transport you to a Caribbean beach. But Hotel ZaZa’s newest concoction, the Cointreau Rickey, might take the proverbial cake.
Using a CO2 siphon canister, Cointreau mixologist Kyle Ford concocted a fully carbonated drink made with Cointreau, fresh limejuice and filtered water. Unlike cocktails that rely on soda water, prosecco or champagne for a few bubbles, the soda siphon carbonates the entire drink.
For poolside drinkers at ZaZa, the hotel is offering a $50 kit that provides a siphon, an assortment of fruits, and a muddler to create your own refreshing cocktail. Each siphon holds five cocktails, so you can order one for your greedy self or share with friends.
And lest you think the water will ruin the cocktail, it’s there to account for diluting and expanding the drink in the siphon instead of over ice. With all the fruit at your disposal, it’s up to you to decide what kind of flavors to infuse with carbonation.
