Catch up with this new DFW seafood restaurant from an East Texas chain

Cajun-style seafood restaurant chain The Catch is bringing more fried catfish to market, with the opening of a new location in Arlington. The restaurant opened in November at 5809 I-20 West, between Green Oaks Boulevard and Little Road, in the same center as Sprouts and the Movie Tavern.

The Catch is a fast-casual restaurant chain based in East Texas, focused on fresh seafood and excellent service in a coastal atmosphere. It currently has 13 locations, some in smaller Texas towns such as Tyler and Longview; there's also one in Lewisville.

 Local franchiser Chris Fleming says in a release that they plan on opening more. "We are excited to open these two restaurants offering fresh, Cajun-style seafood, and we continue to work with the Venture team to seek more great locations to serve the North Texas community," he says.

In a January review for the Fort Worth Star Telegram, CultureMap contributor Malcolm Mayhew liked the food, singling out the gumbo, and called the restaurant "a throwback to the classic fried seafood that many Fort Worthians consider sacred."

The menu ranges from fried fish to fried baskets to fried combos. Just kidding, there's some grilled and boiled things, too. You can get fried popcorn shrimp, catfish, and oysters, plus chicken tenders and alligator.

Combo baskets make every pairing possible: shrimp and chicken tenders, catfish and crawfish, shrimp and oysters.

There are also po' boy sandwiches, blackened chicken, a cheeseburger, and tacos filled with seafood, as well as a veggie taco filled with grilled veggies.

Sides include french fries, coleslaw, cheese grits, white rice, red beans and rice, corn and potatoes, and hush puppies. That all sounds pretty good.
