Hervé Léger brings sexy back with midriff-baring, body-hugging styles for fall
Since relaunching Hervé Léger five years ago with a big Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show, Max and Lubov Azria have revitalized the body-hugging bandage dress pioneered by the French designer. For fall, the Azrias continue to showcase sexy stretch-fabric dresses, this time inspired by surrealist sculptors Les Lalanne, with sensual embroideries that enhance the curve of the body and flatter the fanny.
The form-fitting dresses range from ocelot-print jacquards in kaleidoscope patterns to ethereal alabaster shades with textured beading and savage gray patterns studded with gunmetal embellishments. But a sexy dress can only go so far.
To extend the brand, the Azrias have expanded to separates in bandage fabric, with zip-front skirts, midriff-baring crop tops with geometric beading, goatskin and fox fur hoodie sweatshirts, and slouchy sweatpants that sparkle so brightly they are meant for the dance floor rather than the gym.
Most of the styles are layered. Dresses are worn with matching leggings and over long-sleeve black tops, so that very little skin is revealed. And they are often accessorized with leather harness belts, boots and caps for a tough-girl look.
Even covered up, the Hervé Léger client looks fierce.
